Targa Telematics presents its AI-based in-vehicle telematics solutions. The aim is to improve operational processes, facilitate the creation of new services and encourage the emergence of new business models.
Targa Telematics has been involved in the IoT sector for 20 years, integrating AI into its products and making it available to vehicle fleet managers. This enables them to make rapid, informed decisions, reorganise their processes and accelerate their digital transformation by simplifying it. AI is becoming
into everyday life, so much so that customers use it naturally, intuitively, without even realising it. It allows fleet management tools to be optimised. This is particularly true of Targa Telematics' corporate car-sharing service, based on the Open Mobility Platform and enhanced with an AI-based saturation analysis function. The tool studies data on the use of car-sharing fleets to optimise their allocation, making it possible to reduce their size by up to 22%, generating significant savings while aligning the mobility offering with companies' real needs. Another significant example is the Smart Vehicle Protector anti-theft solution, which features predictive capabilities. Its operation is based on advanced artificial intelligence and automatic learning algorithms. By 2023, this feature had reduced the incidence rate
by more than 30%.
Data as a prerequisite
In an environment characterised by unpredictability and multiple challenges, AI is seen as a tool that can process large volumes of information, identify irregularities that could escape human vigilance and, ultimately, solve complex problems. The AI algorithms developed by Targa Telematics provide reliable, accurate and rapid responses, with the aim of helping fleet managers and rental companies to make the right decisions.
To train artificial intelligence, you need a lot of data. Hence the importance of having a great deal of computing power and access to a large amount of data. That's why, since 2017, Targa Telematics has been forging partnerships with major players in the automotive industry, such as Stellantis, Mercedes-Benz, Ford, BMW, Renault and Dacia. Thanks to Targa Telematics, more than 100,000 vehicles across Europe are now harnessing their data streams and no less than 24 terabytes of Big Data are being processed every day to provide analyses and recommendations of unrivalled accuracy.
