Peblar: robust, durable recharging solutions

Dutch manufacturer Peblar is aiming to redefine quality, safety and robustness standards in the electric vehicle charging point market. Supported by its parent company, Prodrive Technologies, Peblar has entered the electric vehicle charging point (EVRC) market with a clear objective: to design products that are more robust, safer and more durable. We knew that there were solutions to be improved, thanks in particular to our expertise in the automotive and high-tech sectors,’ explains Erik Berens, Peblar's Sales Director. With the support of Prodrive Technologies, which has been developing white-label charging stations since 2015, we entered the market with confidence and sold out of stock in the first year.’ Peblar has already delivered more than 300,000 charging stations in key markets such as Benelux, the DACH region, the UK and Denmark. Its achievements build on Prodrive's years of expertise in providing advanced solutions for world-renowned automotive brands. A new standard for recharging ‘Our goal was to raise industry standards, ensuring that our charging points exceeded expectations,’ continues Berens. With a failure rate of less than 0.3%, Peblar charging stations are reliable, future-proof and equipped with features such as Plug & Charge and bi-directional charging to anticipate emerging trends. ‘At Peblar, we've simplified things by integrating everything in-house, which makes us both adaptable and proactive,’ he explains. This commitment also extends to the user experience. ‘We want everyone to enjoy our kiosks. Wholesalers should be proud to sell them, installers should favour them and customers should enjoy using them.’ A European ambition As a Dutch brand, Peblar intends to expand across Europe so that ‘anyone, anywhere in Europe, will come across one of our bollards on their way’, says Mr Berens. To achieve this, however, Peblar is focusing on sustainable growth to ‘build a solid business, focused on quality and reliability, rather than rapid expansion’. Adaptability is at the heart of Peblar's strategy, particularly when it comes to compliance with local regulations. ‘We prioritise market needs, such as our Eichrecht certification for the DACH region or our closures for the French market,’ says Berens. As the sector evolves with cheaper electric vehicles and increased standardisation, Peblar is anticipating future needs, particularly with Plug & Charge and V2G (bi-directional recharging) functionalities set to become widespread.
