VPG Onboard Weighing, a brand of Vishay Precision Group, markets VanWeigh, a system for overload protection and load optimization. Specifically designed for light commercial vehicles (LCVs) with two axles featuring leaf or pneumatic suspension, the VanWeigh system safeguards drivers and operators against weight violations by providing axle load distribution data. The Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) and axle load information are conveyed to the driver through an easy-to-use digital display with a color screen. VanWeigh includes an output at the indicator level for connecting traceability systems and ensuring simple and reliable communication.
Enhanced Precision
The new VanWeigh boasts improved precision exceeding ±2.5% (90-100% of GVWR), compared to 3% in first-generation systems. An audible alarm sounds if the total vehicle weight or axle weight is exceeded. VanWeigh is easy to install, consisting of no moving parts and is not prone to wear or misalignment, unlike other axle protection systems. Each axle is monitored by environment-resistant electronic sensors, regulating the load applied to each axle. It's worth noting that VanWeigh complies with CE regulations on electromagnetic compatibility.
